Dear Dr. Hawkins:

Re: Special Local Need Registration for Bravo 720 (EPA Reg. No. 50534-
     188) on Blueberries

We have accepted your application to register the referenced pesticide
product pursuant to Section 24(c) of the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide
and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA), as amended. The registration permits the
use of Bravo 720 (chlorothalonil) to control anthracnose on blueberries
grown in New York State.

ISK Biosciences has obtained a tolerance for chlorothalonil on
blueberries and has applied to the United States Environmental
Protection Agency (USEPA) for Section 3 registration for this use.
However, the federal registration is not expecter to be approved in time
for the 1996 use season.

Because growers in New York State have been using Bravo 720 for the past
two years to control anthracnose on blueberries under Section 18 of
FIFRA, and because there are still no effective registered alternatives
for use at this time, this Department supports making Bravo 720
available to growers under a Section 24(c) registration.

This registration only approves use of Bravo 720 to control anthracnose
on blueberries. Your application sought approval of Bravo 720 and Bravo
Ultrex for control of anthracnose and mummy berry diseases. The
submitted data do not justify that a special local need condition exists
in New York State involving mummy berry diseases. Therefore, the SLN
label for Bravo 720 must be revised accordingly.

The registration is assigned SLN No. NY-9600005. This registration
expires on December 31, 1996.

The Certificate of Pesticide Registration for Bravo 720 is enclosed for
your records. A copy of the revised SLN label must be submitted to this
Department for approval before release.

If you have any questions, please contact Teresa Foster of my staff at
(518) 457-7446.

Sincerely,

Maureen P. Serafini
