Dear Ms. Linahan:

Re:  Experimental Use Permit for Alert Insecticide/Miticide (EPA Reg. No. 241-
     EUP-134) for use on Cabbage

     An experimental permit is issued for the above product, an 
Insecticide/Miticide containing the active ingredient 4-bromo-2-(4-
chlorophenyl)-1-(ethoxymethyl)-5-(trifluoromethyl)-1-H-pyrrole-3-carbonitrile 
for control of pests on cabbage. The target pests are: armyworms-beet 
armyworm, fall army worm, southern armyworm, yellow striped armyworm; loopers-
cabbage looper, alfalfa looper, soybean looper, celery looper; cabbageworms-
native, imported; diamondback moth; cabbage moth; saltmarsh caterpillar. This 
permit allows conductance of implementation and efficacy trials for use on 
cabbage under the following terms:

     1. Treatment is limited to three (3) applications for a maximum of 20 
acres total for all treatments; with a maximum application rate of 0.18 lb. 
Active Ingredient per Acre;

     2. Treatments are limited to the three cooperators supplied to us in your 
July 3, 1996 (see attached list). Any changes made to this list must be 
submitted to this office for approval prior to treatment;

     3. The appropriate regional office of the Department must be notified at 
least 48 hours prior to any treatment. Enclosed is a list of regional office 
contacts and phone numbers; 

     4. The experimental permit expires December 31, 1997;

     5. A maximum of 11 pounds of AC 303,630 technical (5 gal. formulated 
product) may be brought into New York State. All unused product must be 
removed from the State unless registration occurs prior to expiration of the 
experimental permit.
