acephate Valent U.S.A. Corporation plans to delete soybeans from all
(Orthene) U.S.labels of the insecticide acephate (tradename Orthene).
They have followed this course of action due to new
reregistration requirements imposed under FIFRA, Section 4,
including residues in processed commodities. Valent has
recently notified the USEPA of this action in response to a
FIFRA, Section 4 Data Call-In, but the USEPA has not yet
accepted this deletion. Valent will consider supporting at
plant or seed treatment uses of acephate on soybeans if
another party wishes to develop the required data.
